Data Testing Engineer
Summary
A QA engineer validates data pipelines and warehouses through ETL/ELT testing, writes automated tests in Python (preferably Playwright), and tests APIs with Postman/Rest Assured. Day to day involves checking data accuracy with SQL, maintaining automation scripts, and tracking defects in JIRA alongside data engineering teams.
We are seeking an experienced Data Testing Engineer with expertise in ETL/ELT testing, data warehouse testing, API testing, and Python-based test automation. The role focuses on validating data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and testing APIs and data-driven applications.
Important: This role requires experience in ETL/ELT testing, API testing, and Python-based automation. Java- or Selenium-only automation experience does not meet the requirement.
Mandatory Skills

Key Responsibilities
- Perform ETL/ELT and data warehouse testing to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Validate data pipelines, transformations, and data integrity using SQL.
- Design and execute API test cases.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
- Perform manual and database testing as required.
- Identify, report, and track defects using JIRA or similar tools.
- Collaborate with development and data engineering teams to deliver quality solutions.
Should have strong experience in ETL Testing and SQL, along with expertise in at least one or more of the following technology combinations:
