Database Administrator
Summary
Maintains and secures SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL databases, sets up users, monitors performance, and implements backups and recovery plans.
We are seeking a Junior Database Administrator to join our team in Khanpur. As a Database Administrator you will be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of our companys databases. You will work closely with the IT department to ensure that our databases operate efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain database software
- Create and manage database users and permissions
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as data purging and index rebuilding
- Ensure data security by implementing appropriate access controls and encryption techniques
- Collaborate with other teams to design and implement new databases or modify existing ones
- Document database configurations, procedures and guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge of database management systems: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
- Familiarity with database design principles
- Understanding of data backup, recovery, security and integrity concepts
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Database Administrator
- Experience with database performance tuning
- Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL or Python
