The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by managing roads, marine and public transport networks across the State, and builds and maintains the State-owned infrastructure that enables the delivery of essential and important government services to our community.

The Information Services Directorate delivers essential ICT services across the Department while partnering with customers and stakeholders to drive innovative, digital, and customer-focused outcomes.

As a Database Administrator, you'll support PostgreSQL and SQL environments in a hybrid cloud environment, focusing on managing, tuning and optimising databases while contributing to the migration of Oracle databases to PostgreSQL on AWS, working closely with vendors, and ensuring compliance with standards and policies to deliver secure, high-performance, and highly available services.

Special Conditions

  • A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

  • A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.

  • This role may be required to provide after-hours on-call support throughout the year.

  • Some out of hours and weekend work may be required.
