About the team :

Candidate will be part of Corporate IT Applications team that provides design, deployment & support for systems, services and requirements across Flipkart Corporate functions like Engi neering, Finance, HR, Procurement and Recommerce

Candidate Responsible for:

Architect, design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure MySQL and MongoDB database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps teams to define database archi tecture, capacity planning, performance requirements, and reliability objectives. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance, including query tuning, index opti mization, schema design reviews, and workload analysis.

Implement and maintain Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE) practices, including observabil ity, automation, disaster recovery, resiliency testing, incident management, and service reliability improvements.

Design and manage backup, recovery, replication, failover, and high-availability solutions to meet business continuity and SLA requirements.

Automate operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.

About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MySQL & MongoDB DBA with Database Reliability Engi neering (DBRE) expertise to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for design ing, administering, automating, monitoring, and optimizing mission-critical database platforms. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in MySQL and MongoDB administration, per formance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, automation, and cloud-native database oper ations.

To succeed in this role candidate should have the following :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

5+ years of hands-on experience in MySQL and/or MongoDB Database Administration within large-scale production environments.

Strong expertise in database architecture, installation, configuration, administration, and perfor mance tuning for MySQL and MongoDB.

Proven experience implementing and managing High Availability (HA), replication, clustering, sharding, failover, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.

Strong understanding of Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE) principles, including observ ability, automation, reliability, capacity planning, incident management, and service level objectives (SLOs).

Experience troubleshooting complex database performance issues, including query optimization, indexing strategies, schema design reviews, and workload analysis.

Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana,
