Database Administrator

This position ensures the BAU databases are in good health and involved in the project’s setup. The job will require working at odd hours or as when is required.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Familiar with any 2 of the following databases (MSSQL, MYSQL, ORACLE, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)

• To attend DB security patching on the scheduled downtime

• To handle incidents on databases and provide solutions to minimize downtimes

• Setup, configure and maintain new databases for user testing or new projects

• Provide health check report and status update as required

Jobholder Requirements:

• Diploma / Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent

• Production database management experience in any 2 of the following databases (MSSQL, ORACLE, DB2, MYSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL) is an added advantage

• Experience working in the Financial Industry is a plus point

• Experienced in troubleshooting and tuning databases

• Experienced in database migration between versions, platforms and different database types

Certification/Licensing Requirements

• Malaysian citizen with a Recognized Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent.

• At least 3-4 years of hands-on experience in Unix-based System Administration.

• Any certification in MSSQL, ORACLE, DB2, MYSQL, MongoDB or PostgreSQL databases is an added advantage.
