We\'re looking for an experienced Intermediate to Senior Database Administrator who is passionate about maintaining high-performing, secure, and reliable database environments. This role is ideal for a professional with strong SQL Server expertise who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving database performance, and supporting critical business applications.
As part of our technology team, you\'ll play a key role in managing and optimising enterprise database platforms, supporting high availability environments, and driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You\'ll D o
Administer, maintain, and support enterprise-scale database environmen ts Implement and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including clustering, availability groups, and replicati on Manage database backups, restores, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activiti es Monitor database performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimisati on Analyse and troubleshoot database issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measur es Optimise queries, indexes, and database configurations to improve performance and reliabili ty Develop and maintain data replication and data movement solutions across environmen ts Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting and automation too ls Support infrastructure and cloud migration initiatives where requir ed Ensure database security, access controls, compliance, and data governance standards are maintain ed Create and maintain operational documentation, technical procedures, and support runboo ks Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and application support teams to deliver reliable database servic es Provide guidance and support to junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiativ es Participate in incident management and provide after-hours support when requir
What We\'re Looking For
5-8+ years of Database Administration experience within medium to large enterprise environm ents Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related f ents Solid understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and optimisation techni ques Experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery solut ions Knowledge of replication technologies, database backup and recovery strategies, and maintenance plan ning Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Power Shell, Python, or Bash Exposure to cloud platforms and modern infrastructure environments will be advantag eous Experience with technologies such as Click House, Foundation DB, Valkey, LGTM Stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir), or similar observability and database technologies would be benefi cial Understanding of database security, auditing, compliance, and governance pract ices Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving sk ills Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environ ment Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement sk ills A proactive and collaborative approach with a strong focus on continuous improve
