Database Administrator

For a quarter of a century, the Jellycat family have brought joy, wonder and playful fun to people of all ages, in every part of the world. Utterly original and in a class of their own, they are currently among the most loved and collected toys of their kind. How has this gentle tribe endeared themselves to so many? Perhaps it is their whimsical expressions. Or the deliciously soft fabrics. Or the beautiful way in which they sit in your hand. Whatever it is, there is something magical and unmistakeable about each one of them.

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to take ownership of our SQL data platform supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Infios Warehouse Advantage and a growing integration ecosystem.

This role is critical in ensuring the performance, reliability and security of our databases, while enabling scalable growth across ERP, warehouse and integration platforms. • Proactive Monitoring & Issue Prevention
Implementing monitoring, alerting, and maintenance routines to identify and resolve issues before they impact the business.

  • Backup, Recovery & Resilience
Designing, implementing, and regularly testing backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.

  • Security & Data Governance
Managing database access, permissions, and auditing to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Integration Data Support
Optimising and supporting databases used in integrations (e.g. APIs, Azure Functions), ensuring efficient and reliable data flows.

  • Collaboration & Enablement
Partnering with developers, analysts, and system owners to improve data models, query performance, and delivery speed.

  • Continuous Improvement & Automation
Driving automation of database processes and continuous optimisation of performance, scalability, and cost.

You'll have;

  • A strong understanding of SQL Server and Azure SQL environments

  • A solid grasp of database design, performance tuning, and optimisation

  • Knowledge of high availability, backup/recovery, and data security principles

  • Proven DBA experience in a production, business-critical environment

  • Hands on performance tuning and troubleshooting of SQL workloads

  • Experience supporting ERP, WMS, or integration-heavy systems

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and modern data architectures

  • Advanced SQL querying, indexing, and execution plan analysis

  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis

  • Experience with database monitoring, automation and maintenance (e.g. scripting, jobs)

  • The ability to collaborate with developers and translate business needs into data solutions

  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability for database performance and reliability

  • A proactive, prevention-focused mindset, with a focus on anticipating and addressing issues early

  • A detail-oriented approach to ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across both technical and non-technical teams

  • The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, coupled with a continuous improvement mindset
