As the organization continues to grow, they are expanding their remote team and seeking a dependable and technically capable Database Administrator in the Philippines who can help maintain reliable database systems and ensure data remains accurate, accessible, secure, and properly managed.
Role Overview
This is a fully remote, full-time role for a Database Administrator based in the Philippines. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the client's databases while helping ensure data integrity, availability, security, and performance.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, technically proficient, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards for data accuracy, security, and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and monitor company databases
- Ensure databases remain available, reliable, and properly optimized
- Perform database configuration, maintenance, and routine administration
- Monitor database performance and identify potential issues
- Troubleshoot database errors, performance issues, and system-related problems
- Perform regular database backups and verify backup integrity
- Assist with database recovery and restoration processes when required
- Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across database systems
- Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access controls
- Monitor and support database security and access requirements
- Perform data imports, exports, migrations, and updates
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, reports, and database scripts when required
- Assist with database design, structure, and optimization
- Identify opportunities to improve database performance and efficiency
- Maintain accurate database documentation and technical records
- Support integration of databases with business applications and other systems
- Assist with data cleanup, validation, and quality-control processes
- Monitor database capacity and resource utilization
- Coordinate with internal teams and technical stakeholders to resolve database-related issues
- Support system upgrades, database migrations, and technical projects when required
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive business information
- Perform other database administration and technical support tasks that support efficient business operations
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator, Database Analyst, SQL Administrator, or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
- Experience with database administration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and data integrity processes
- Knowledge of database security, user access, and permissions management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with database systems such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with database performance monitoring and optimization
- Experience with data migration, imports, exports, and data cleanup
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive business information professionally
- Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools
- Proactive, reliable, and solutions-oriented approach to work
- Previous experience supporting US-based businesses or international clients is an advantage
