Database Administrator (Sybase) - IC

Summary

Maintain and optimize Sybase databases for a high-volume, low-latency enterprise system, including setup, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.

Databases installation, setup, maintenance & upgrades/patching
Design & configure DR solutions, backup routines, databases replications, system health checks and prepare documentations
Database performance tuning
Firefighting for database related issues
Database recovery
Interface with clients to provide the best solution that meet the requirements
Evaluate and identify opportunities for resource optimization, performance and functional improvements
Create, and maintain documentation as well as procedures

Bachelor degree with 3-5 years relevant experience on supporting enterprise Databases
Experience on design, configuration and expansion of a high volume low latency database
Knowledge in Database architectures: master/master, master/slave, cluster, in-memory & caching
Experience in 24/7 global highly transactional system
Ability to resolve problems quickly and to automate and improve processes
Work closely with product development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet aggressive deployment schedules
Proven experience and success with Database design and implementation
Experience in Sybase DB is a must
