What You’ll Do
- Manage and engineer the company’s global relational database solutions.
- Ensure and enhance the integrity of our mission‑critical data offering.
- Innovate and take responsibility for the database environment.
- Troubleshoot and support the databases as part of a global team of DBAs.
- Work closely with other teams to improve and enhance the estate.
- Make and implement recommendations to prevent reoccurring issues and automate manual processes.
- Interface and communicate with all levels of the business, up to and including the CTO.
You Should Have
- 4+ years’ experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment.
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB.
- Exposure to other databases (Sybase, MongoDB, Postgres or MSSQL).
- All database management activities, performance tuning, estate improvement planning and implementation.
- Complex database replication topology support.
- Installation, migration and upgrade experience.
- Backups, restores, HA and DR skills.
- Database performance tuning.
- Stored procedures and SQL writing.
- UNIX scripting skills. Strong knowledge of at least one of bash, ksh, perl, ruby.
- Awareness of and adherence to production change management processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of supporting Java applications an advantage.
- On‑call support of weekends experience.
