What You’ll Do

  • Manage and engineer the company’s global relational database solutions.
  • Ensure and enhance the integrity of our mission‑critical data offering.
  • Innovate and take responsibility for the database environment.
  • Troubleshoot and support the databases as part of a global team of DBAs.
  • Work closely with other teams to improve and enhance the estate.
  • Make and implement recommendations to prevent reoccurring issues and automate manual processes.
  • Interface and communicate with all levels of the business, up to and including the CTO.

You Should Have

  • 4+ years’ experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB.
  • Exposure to other databases (Sybase, MongoDB, Postgres or MSSQL).
  • All database management activities, performance tuning, estate improvement planning and implementation.
  • Complex database replication topology support.
  • Installation, migration and upgrade experience.
  • Backups, restores, HA and DR skills.
  • Database performance tuning.
  • Stored procedures and SQL writing.
  • UNIX scripting skills. Strong knowledge of at least one of bash, ksh, perl, ruby.
  • Awareness of and adherence to production change management processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of supporting Java applications an advantage.
  • On‑call support of weekends experience.
