Senior Database Engineer (PostgreSQL DBA)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Engineer (PostgreSQL DBA) with deep expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, performance tuning, automation, and operational excellence to support enterprise-scale database environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and optimize PostgreSQL database solutions.
Deliver database upgrades, migrations, modernization, and consolidation initiatives.
Implement and manage High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), replication, backup, and recovery solutions.
Automate database provisioning, patching, monitoring, and administration using scripting and DevOps practices.
Develop operational standards, governance, best practices, and support procedures.
Lead incident resolution and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
Build and execute a PostgreSQL capability uplift program for a team of 20-25 DBAs through training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer.
Provide technical leadership, stakeholder reporting, and architectural guidance.
10+ years of database administration and engineering experience.
5+ years of advanced PostgreSQL administration in enterprise environments.
Expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, performance tuning, replication, HA/DR, security, backup/recovery, and capacity planning.
Strong SQL, Linux administration, and database engineering skills.
Experience with automation using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and database automation frameworks.
Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server administration.
Azure DevOps.
Kubernetes and container technologies.
Terraform.
