6-month Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced SCC Database Manager to join their team in Chippenham on an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This is an excellent opportunity to support mission-critical systems within a highly regulated operational environment, providing database administration and system support to ensure the ongoing performance and reliability of critical services.

Key Responsibilities

As an SCC Database Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out database maintenance and update activities, implementing database changes through established change management procedures, releasing new databases onto systems, maintaining database change control documentation and performing routine data and software backup and archiving activities. You will also undertake routine system maintenance and housekeeping activities, diagnose and rectify system failures, restart subsystems following failures, and support software, system and database configuration management activities.

Essential Requirements

• 1-2 years' experience in database administration or system support within spacecraft operations or a similar mission-critical systems environment.
• Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Experience working with:

• RHEL
• Solaris
• Windows Server 2012
• Windows Server 2022
• Windows 10

Ability to diagnose and resolve system faults within operational environments.

Desirable Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Contract Details

• Location: Chippenham
• Duration: 6 Months (possible extension)
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Fully onsite
• Pay Rate: Up to £31.18 per hour PAYE / Up to £41.71 per hour Umbrella
• Security Clearance: Due to requirements for this role, all applicants must be eligible for SC clearance and willing to obtain.
