Database Marketing Specialist II

Pay Rate: $62,400 starting salary

SUMMARY: Assist in the creation, construction, implementation and evaluation/analysis of Marketing programs and efforts while ensuring an ongoing review and maintenance of database integrity implementing best practices. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete data extracts to create, construct, implement and analyze guest marketing strategies through various communication channels (e.g. Mail, email, Phone)
  • Answer guest inquiries regarding marketed offers and communications applying discretion while adhering to property goals and policies when determining appropriate corrective action
  • Utilize software to set up mailers with a continuous focus on optimizing redemption capture for thorough analysis
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of the database in order to increase efficiency and success of guest contact
  • Meet deadlines to ensure that optimal response rates can be attained
  • May be asked to manage postage CAPS account with US Postal Service
  • Evaluate, construct and research marketing programs with a focus on increased revenue and/or decreased expense with a high degree of competence
  • Prepare and present ongoing analysis reports focusing on the performance of programs/ initiatives
  • Create custom reports for further evaluation
  • Provide internal support to all database users, including training, identifying “best practice”, troubleshooting, and coding.
  • Read technical journals and/or manuals, attend vendor seminars, and take advantage of appropriate professional development opportunities to learn about new database marketing initiatives
  • Schedule and coordinate text and creative content

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • 2-year degree in Business Administration or related field and 4-year previous Marketing or Promotions experience; or a combination of equivalent experience and/or education
  • 4 years’ experience with database systems or other gaming-related computer systems
  • 2 years working experience with query writing and/or data extraction/manipulation

Preferred:

  • 1-year experience with media placement, market research or direct mail marketing
  • Knowledge of continuity programs within casino operations

REQUIRED TRAINING

  • Treasure Island guest service training
  • Applicable software applications training
  • Any position-related training as determined by department manager

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to walk and / or stand and sit for long periods throughout the day
  • Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
  • Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects occasionally
  • Must have the ability to independently lift up to 5 pounds infrequently
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Must have good eye hand coordination

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is performed primarily in administration building but may include going onto the gaming floor, which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Extensive computer use
  • Occasionally overtime may be required
  • Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
