Database Migration Architect
We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Architect to lead enterprise-scale migrations of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases from on-premises environments to Azure-managed database platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end database migration strategies and architectures.
- Assess migration readiness, dependencies, compatibility, and performance requirements.
- Execute migrations using Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) and related Azure tools.
- Develop migration runbooks, SOPs, cutover plans, and rollback procedures.
- Support data validation, performance optimization, and post-migration stabilization.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and cloud teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in database administration and migration.
- Strong experience in SQL Server and Oracle database administration and migration.
- Proven track record delivering database migration projects to Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DMS, Azure SQL Database, and/or Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Knowledge of HA/DR, backup and recovery, replication, and database security.
- Scripting experience using PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/SQL, or Azure CLI.
