Database Operations and Production Support Engineer
Summary
Supports business-critical mortgage database services: hands-on SQL/T-SQL work on SQL Server (Azure SQL preferred), monitoring ETL jobs, batch processes, and file-based integrations, plus incident resolution, change execution, and documentation for a 6-9 year seniority level. Based in Hyderabad or Bengaluru.
Position Summary
The Senior Database Operations & Production Support Engineer supports business-critical mortgage database services, production processes, data integrations, recurring reporting, and operational maintenance. The role combines hands-on SQL and application support with disciplined change execution, incident resolution, documentation, and coordination across business and technology teams.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience supporting production databases and data-driven applications in a structured enterprise environment.
- Practical SQL and T-SQL skills for investigation, validation, data correction, cleanup, and operational reporting.
- Experience with SQL Server; exposure to Azure SQL is strongly preferred.
- Experience monitoring or troubleshooting ETL jobs, batch processes, scheduled reports, and file-based integrations.
- Working knowledge of incident, request, problem, and change-management practices.
- Ability to analyze production issues, assess risk, follow controls, document evidence, and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong documentation, handover, and knowledge-transfer discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting mortgage, financial-services, servicing, treasury, compliance, or regulated reporting processes.
- Experience with ServiceNow or a comparable enterprise ticketing and change-management platform.
- Familiarity with SFTP, network file paths, job scheduling, ETL interfaces, and cross-platform data integrations.
- Experience with production support coverage models, operational runbooks, and recurring month-end or quarter-end processing.
