A 6-month B2B contract role in Warsaw for a Databricks Data Engineer to build and optimise scalable data pipelines on a major data platform, using PySpark, Python, SQL, and Delta Lake/Lakehouse architecture on cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP).

We’re working with a technology-led business that is looking for an experienced Databricks Data Engineer to join the team on an initial 6-month contract.

You’ll be joining a major data platform project, working within an experienced engineering team to build and improve scalable data solutions using Databricks at the heart of the environment.

What you’ll be working on

  • Designing and building scalable data pipelines within Databricks
  • Developing production-grade workloads using PySpark, Python and SQL
  • Working extensively with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture
  • Building and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines for large datasets
  • Improving data quality, reliability and performance across the platform
  • Working with cloud-based data infrastructure
  • Collaborating with Data Engineers, Architects and wider technical teams
  • Supporting the continued development and modernisation of the data platform

What we’re looking for

  • Strong commercial experience with Databricks
  • Advanced Python, PySpark and SQL skills
  • Experience with Delta Lake / Lakehouse architecture
  • Strong understanding of modern data engineering principles
  • Experience building and optimising large-scale data pipelines
  • Experience working within Azure, AWS or GCP environments
  • Previous experience working in contract or project-based environments is beneficial
  • Comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
