Databricks Engineers & Architect (Multiple Roles)

We're hiring for one of the largest Data & AI consultancies in the region, a multi-award-winning Databricks and Microsoft partner that is growing fast across Australia and New Zealand. They're building out a Databricks delivery team for a major client programme and need several experienced engineers and an architect to start as soon as possible.

Open roles

1. Databricks Data Engineers / Senior Software Engineers (2–7 years)
   Build and optimise data pipelines on Databricks. This covers ingestion, ETL/ELT, medallion architecture and migration work. At the senior level you'll lead technical development and troubleshooting.

2. Databricks Backend Engineer, Python/FastAPI
   A hybrid data engineering and backend role. You'll build REST APIs and Databricks Apps on top of the platform, from pipelines through to deployment.

3. Databricks Architect (6+ years)
   Own the solution design and technical direction for the programme, and guide the engineering team on architecture, deployment and performance.

What we're looking for

• Hands-on Databricks experience with PySpark, SQL and Delta Lake

• ETL/ELT pipelines, medallion architecture and data ingestion at scale

• Databricks Workflows, notebooks and Databricks Asset Bundles

• Deployment, performance tuning and experience across the full engineering lifecycle

• For the backend role: FastAPI (essential), REST API development, JWT/OAuth2 and Databricks Apps

• Agile ways of working, unit testing, CI/CD and Azure DevOps

Nice to have

• AI/ML engineering or MLOps

• Front-end exposure (Next.js, HTML/CSS frameworks)

• Databricks or Azure certifications

Location: Brisbane preferred. We also welcome strong candidates based anywhere in Australia.
Start: Immediate, from late September 2026
Remuneration: Competitive, based on experience

Working rights: You must have full, valid working rights in Australia that allow full-time work, for example Australian or NZ citizens, permanent residents, or eligible visa holders such as Temporary Graduate (subclass 485). Visa sponsorship is not available for these roles.
