Day 2 Infrastructure Engineer
Summary
Maintains and troubleshoots enterprise IT infrastructure (servers, virtualization, storage, firewalls) in a 24/7 environment, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance.
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive Infrastructure Engineer to manage, support, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure in a mission-critical 24/7 environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in infrastructure operations, troubleshooting, system administration, and security compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain servers, virtualization platforms, storage, firewalls, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and support RHEL, VMware, and related systems.
- Perform system monitoring, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
- Support IT security, access management, disaster recovery, and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, SOPs, and change records.
- Support enterprise hardware, virtualization (VMware/OpenShift/Kubernetes), and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus).
- Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability and automation.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure administration and support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, RHEL, VMware, and enterprise hardware (servers, storage, networking).
- Hands-on experience with backup & recovery, system monitoring, and virtualization platforms.
- Familiarity with OpenShift/Kubernetes, Ansible, GitLab, Grafana, and Prometheus is an advantage.
- RHCSA/RHCE and VMware certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
