DB2 LUW ADMINISTRATION
The DB2 LUW Administrator will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our database systems. They will be responsible for the smooth operation and performance of DB2 instances across various environments. This role requires a deep understanding of DB2 LUW administration, including migration from DB2 z/OS, and expertise in managing Amazon RDS and data replication tools.
- Manage and monitor RDS for DB2 instances, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Execute complex DDL migrations from DB2 z/OS to DB2 LUW, maintaining data integrity.
- Configure and validate Precisely CDC data replication, ensuring accurate and timely data synchronization.
- Perform encoding conversions and resolve EBCDIC/ASCII-related issues for seamless data migration.
- Support parallel run data synchronization, coordinating with T-Systems for source database access.
- Implement performance tuning techniques, including indexing and query optimization, to enhance database efficiency.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure database schema and stored procedure compatibility.
- Maintain and document database configurations, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Provide timely support and troubleshooting for any database-related issues or queries.
- Strong expertise in DB2 LUW administration, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Proven track record in DB2 z/OS to LUW migration projects, demonstrating successful data conversions.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS management and configuration, including security and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in DDL conversion, schema migration, and stored procedure development for DB2.
- Knowledge of data replication tools such as CDC, DMS, or equivalent, with experience in configuring and validating data replication processes.
- Ability to perform performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization to enhance database efficiency.
- Understanding of EBCDIC/ASCII encoding and collating sequences, and experience in resolving encoding issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
