General Summary
Performs general preventive maintenance and makes machine and equipment repairs as directed. Troubleshoots equipment.
Essential Functions
- Conducts preventive maintenance on assigned machines and equipment.
- Assures that machines and equipment are kept in a safe operating condition.
- Makes emergency repairs as safely and quickly as possible to maximize machine and equipment availability to production.
- Maintains records of all PM and other work performed.
- Assists operators and other key personnel (as specified) with training to better operate and maintain their own equipment, within the scope of their responsibility.
- Provides back-up programming as required.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- General maintenance conditions, including occasional crawling on top of and underneath equipment
- Frequent periods of crouching, kneeling, and working from heights
- Nearly constant walking and standing
- Extremely dirty and noisy work environment in certain areas of the plant
- Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds
Minimum Qualifications
- Pass hands-on and written test for this level
- Successfully complete the remaining 2 classes in the Machine Maintenance Trainee program within the given time frame
- Must meet minimum requirements on the current pay for skill matrix for this level
- No final warning for attendance
- Able to train newer machine maintenance techs
