Location: Kingston, Jamaica
Position Summary
A Discipleship Missionary in Jamaica will serve in a business as missions at DeafCan! Coffee in Kinsgston, Jamaica serving alongside our team there. This role centers on relationship discipleship by supporting the leadership team at DeafCan! Coffee, engaging with the E3 Church, and strengthening the ministry of HarvestCall Jamaica. The missionary will walk alongside others, nurturing spiritual growth while helping to cultivate a Christ-centered workplace and community culture.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Develop intentional relationships and discipleship opportunities at DeafCan! Coffee, in the E3 church, and in the community.
-Model Christian ethics, integrity, and excellence in all business operations.
-Help create a workplace culture that reflects biblical values, respect, and servant leadership.
-Integrate biblical values into personnel development and employee engagement.
-Learn and adapt to local cultural norms, language, and customs.
-Provide discipleship, outreach, and support through the E3 church.
-Assist in creating pathways for emerging leaders to assume increasing ministry and business responsibilities.
Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities may be adjusted as organizational needs evolve.
Qualifications
Church/Spiritual Qualifications
- Active member in good standing in the Apostolic Christian Church of America, with local elder approval.
- Commitment to serving the full spectrum of ACCA membership across all congregations.
- Support the ACCA Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Sexuality.
- Models a lifestyle and character that reflects Christian values in both personal conduct and professional leadership.
- Collaborative, servant-hearted leadership style.
- A heart for the gospel and relational discipleship
- A heart for working with the Deaf community (sign language experience is beneficial but not required)
- Note: Depending on language ability and cultural awareness, the onboarding plan will likely involve a multi-year process committed to learning. This may be done outside or with a modified version of the proposed responsibilities
- Willingness to adapt cross-culturally and grow in business-as-mission
Professional Requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated maturity and readiness to serve cross-culturally in close collaboration with local ministries and local church
- Cultural awareness/sensitivity
- Commitment to Jamaican Sign Language acquisition
- Ability to work as a team, collaborate and engage with others
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment.
- Meets all legal requirements for employment and authorization to work.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Ability to live and work full-time on site in Jamaica, including environments with varying climate, terrain, and infrastructure conditions
- Ability to participate in ministry activities that may involve extended periods of standing or travel
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules, cultural environments, and living conditions with flexibility and resilience
- Valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport and the ability to obtain and maintain appropriate visas, permits, or residency documentation for service in Jamaica
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended ministry schedules as needed
- Willingness to attend required pre-field training, conferences, retreats, or organizational meetings in the United States or abroad
- Compliance with all organizational travel, safety, and security policies
