The opportunity
Autosports Group is seeking an accomplished and commercially focused Dealer Principal to lead Brighton BMW.
BMW is one of the world’s most recognised premium automotive brands, renowned for performance, innovation, design and exceptional customer experiences. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a high-profile dealership representing an iconic brand in one of Melbourne’s most prestigious automotive markets.
Brighton BMW operates within a strong Primary Market Area, covering Brighton and Melbourne’s surrounding bayside suburbs. The area has an established customer base, strong demand for premium vehicles and significant opportunities across new and pre-owned vehicle sales, aftersales and customer retention.
As a key member of Autosports Group’s senior management team, the Dealer Principal will have overall responsibility for the dealership’s performance, culture and strategic direction. You will operate with a high level of autonomy while benefiting from the resources, expertise and support of Australia’s largest prestige and luxury automotive retail group.
Key responsibilities
• Lead the dealership’s day-to-day operations across sales, service, parts and support functions
• Develop and implement strategies to grow market share and maximise the potential of the Brighton BMW PMA
• Achieve and exceed financial, operational, customer experience and manufacturer targets
• Establish a clear direction and vision for the dealership
• Build, coach and retain an engaged, capable and high-performing leadership team
• Foster a customer-first culture aligned with BMW and Autosports Group standards
• Maintain a strong and productive relationship with BMW Australia
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency and customer retention
• Ensure compliance with all manufacturer, company, legal and regulatory requirements
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive and safe workplace for employees and customers
• Work collaboratively across the broader Autosports Group dealership network
About you
You will be an experienced automotive leader with a strong record of success in the Australian prestige or luxury vehicle market.
To be considered, you will demonstrate:
• Proven success as a Dealer Principal, General Manager, or in a comparable senior automotive leadership role
• Experience managing dealership performance across key operational areas
• A strong understanding of commercial and financial management, including budgets, forecasting and profit drivers
• The ability to develop and deliver strategies that grow market share within a defined PMA
• Exceptional leadership, coaching and people management capabilities
• A track record of building high-performing teams and accountable workplace cultures
• The ability to establish productive and mutually respectful relationships with OEM brand partners
• A strong focus on customer experience and long-term customer retention
• Sound knowledge of governance, compliance and workplace health and safety requirements
• The passion, drive and resilience required to deliver results above benchmark
