Summary
Part-time driver for an automotive dealership transporting vehicles to/from auctions and customer locations throughout California. Responsibilities include vehicle inspection, navigation using GPS, maintaining delivery records, and providing professional customer service. Schedule varies with no consistent hours; weekends as needed.
Part-time drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers or goods, maintaining vehicles, and providing excellent customer service. This position will not have a consistent schedule; days and times vary. Weekends will be as needed.
Responsibilities:
- The primary duty of a part-time driver is to transport passengers and vehicles from one location to another safely and efficiently. This will include driving various distances throughout California to pick up/drop off vehicles at vehicle auctions and/or customers' residences.
- Drivers are responsible for ensuring the vehicles are in good working condition. Upon pick up/delivery of the vehicles, drivers will inspect the vehicles for interior/exterior damages and report to the Sales Manager.
- Part-time drivers must navigate efficiently to reach their destinations on time. This involves using GPS and other navigation tools to find the best routes and avoid traffic.
- Providing excellent service is crucial. Drivers should interact professionally with customers and other dealers, ensuring a pleasant experience. This includes being punctual, courteous, and responsive to customer needs.
- Maintaining accurate records is essential. Drivers may need to keep track of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations is a critical responsibility. Drivers must drive defensively and be prepared to handle emergencies on the road.
- Dealer Trade Drivers will be responsible for delivering customers' vehicles as needed, and getting any paperwork properly filled out by the customer.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License: A clean driving record and a valid license are required in order to perform required tasks.
- Time Management: Being punctual and managing time effectively is crucial for meeting deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for interacting with customers and dealers.
