December 2026 New Graduate Engineer, Manufacturing
About Mach Industries
Founded in 2023, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 350 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.
Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.
The Role
Mach Industries is seeking a New Grad Manufacturing Engineer to own the industrialization of our products for high-rate production. In this role, you will work closely with the Product Engineering, Build Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations teams to design, validate, and launch high-volume manufacturing systems using cutting-edge Manufacturing Engineering techniques. This role is focused on building at scale— delivering reliable hardware at speed.
At Mach Industries, we are building decentralized, autonomous systems to maintain an allied American edge in modern warfare. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing flexible, adaptable manufacturing systems that enable rapid production at scale. Working with a world-class engineering team, you will bridge the gap between design and rate-manufacturing, delivering solutions that ensure manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and maximum speed of ramp.
Key Responsibilities
Take extreme ownership of production planning from late-stage prototype builds through Mass-Production ramp at Mach’s Forge Factories.
Design high-throughput manufacturing systems that achieve world-class First-Pass-Yield at target cycle times.
Drive product design optimization using first-principles DFM/A — focusing on part count and complexity reduction, tooling/equipment compatibility, and poka-yoke implementation.
Develop and execute fast-paced, robust Manufacturing launch schedules.
Lead cross-functional Make vs. Buy studies with supply chain to secure rate-capable vendors and on-time part availability.
Lead Manufacturing Virtual-Build events, covering fabrication feasibility/optimization, assembly sequencing, clearance analysis (hand/tool/material), GD&T, DVA, part presentation and handling, and tolerance stack-up risks (among other topics).
Define the full manufacturing system via coherent MBoM, BoP, and BoE datastructures, captured in EasyPlan, DELMIA, Heliux, or an equivalent supporting tool.
Collaborate with controls engineering to ideate, deploy automation cells and conveyance; project-manage vendors through Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and onsite bring-up (SAT).
Own headcount/equipment capacity planning, OPEX/CAPEX estimates, PMTS cycle time analysis (MODAPTS/MOST/MTM), factory layouts (AutoCAD), and NIOSH-compliant ergonomics.
Support PFEP (dunnage & material display), release controlled work instructions/quality gates in MES, and provide daily production support during validation and factory production ramp.
Drive quality with SPC, PFMEA, 8D root cause analysis, and continuous improvement alongside technicians and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
1-3+ years in manufacturing, process engineering, or industrialization roles (internship and school projects experience qualifies).
Bachelor’s degree in industrial & systems, mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.
Graduating with a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD by December 2026 or January 2027
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-volume and/or high-tech Manufacturing environments, including but not limited to Automotive and Aerospace Technology organizations
Experience leveraging Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principles during the planning, ramp, and steady state production phases of the launch cycle.
Proficient in Engineering Probability and Statistics based problem-solving, preferably using software tools (Minitab, etc.).
Hands-on experience with shop floor processes (machining, welding, composites, additive manufacturing, assembly, test).
Understanding of process documentation and quality systems.
Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and process capability.
Experience designing components and assemblies through first-principles application of DFM/A strategies.
Familiarity with Manufacturing System Optimization strategies in high-volume production environments.
Proficient in CAD, preferably Siemens NX, Catia, Solidworks.
