This position is located in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM), Directorate for Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), Office of Defense Trade Controls Licensing (DTCL). PM provides policy direction in the areas of international security, defense trade, defense trade controls, foreign military sales, defense strategy and policy, security assistance, and military operations. Analyze and evaluate arms export control policies, procedures, and methods, in light of U.S. foreign policy objectives and makes recommendations for modifications to the Division Chiefs and senior level officials.

Draft proposed arms export policies, practices, and procedures for the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the United States Munitions List (USML).

Represent Office, Directorate, Bureau, and Department at interagency export control and non-proliferation groups and training/outreach activities.

Confer with analysts and officers throughout the interagency to develop information, clarify divergent viewpoints, and build consensus for U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives.

Review and adjudicate the most sensitive, complex, and highly controversial and/or problematic export license applications, agreements, and general correspondence requests.
