Job Summary:

The Piper Fire Protection Sarasota, FL branch is seeking a motivated and results-driven Deficiency Account Executive to identify, quote, and secure corrective work generated from fire protection inspection reports. This position is responsible for developing customer relationships, managing deficiency repair opportunities, and helping customers maintain compliance with fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and life safety system requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the fire protection industry, with fire alarm and fire sprinkler knowledge preferred. Field experience is beneficial but not required. The Deficiency Account Executive will work closely with inspection, service, and operations teams to deliver exceptional customer service while driving repair and service revenue growth throughout the Sarasota market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and life safety inspection reports to identify deficiency repair opportunities.
  • Develop and present proposals for corrective work, repairs, replacements, and system upgrades.
  • Follow up on quoted deficiencies and manage opportunities through the sales cycle to secure customer approval.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with building owners, property managers, contractors, facility managers, and other key customers.
  • Coordinate with inspectors, technicians, project managers, and operations personnel to ensure successful project execution.
  • Conduct customer meetings and site visits as needed to assess opportunities and support sales efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, forecasts, and activity within the CRM system.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goals, revenue targets, and performance metrics.
  • Stay current on industry trends, fire protection systems, and applicable code requirements.
  • Promote Piper Fire Protection's commitment to customer service, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience, preferably within the fire protection or life safety industry.
  • Experience selling deficiency repairs, inspections, service agreements, or related compliance-driven services.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire/life safety codes.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous field experience as a technician, inspector, installer, or service coordinator within fire protection or life safety systems.

This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Some roles may require travel.
