Deli-Bakery Department Manager

Deli/Bakery Department Managers order, receive, cut/process, store, display, price and account for all bakery and deli products purchased for resale. Read the entire announcement before starting the application process.

Performing inventories using automated equipment. Forecasting product demand. Ordering, receiving, storing, and pricing products using a variety of retail practices and information. Using merchandising techniques and practices to rotate and display products in a professional and attractive manner. Inspecting equipment and initiating required maintenance. Preparing budget forecasts for equipment and supplies. Inspecting and ensuring the department processing areas, display cases, and storage rooms remain neat, orderly, and sanitary, and comply with current sanitation and safety regulations. Ensuring everyone follows proper safety practices while using slicers, knives, cutting tools, etc. Supervising all subordinate employees performing food service work. Work conditions: May be exposed to differing temperatures when stocking, receiving, storing, or obtaining products from freezers or refrigerated areas. There is a danger of slipping, cuts, scrapes, oven and heat sealer burns, and bruises, as well as a risk of injury from knives, blades, cutting and slicing machines, and other equipment associated with merchandising deli and bakery.
