Summary

Oversee daily deli operations, train staff, and ensure food safety and quality in a specialty grocery store.

We are currently looking to add a Deli Lead to our amazing team.

As a Deli Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the deli activities are efficient and all activities adhere to relevant safety and health codes, and provide support and guidance to the deli team members.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure the deli venues are opened, operated, and closed properly.
  • Provide effective and on-the-spot coaching to employees.
  • Work venues and support deli team members with deli roles and effectively perform the functions of that venue when needed.
  • Ensure that all deli work is done in accordance with, and adheres to, company guidelines as well as state laws and regulations.
  • Proactively rotate deli items to ensure product sold is of the highest quality.
  • Work in conjunction with deli employees to ensure that breaks and lunches are covered in a manner that doesn’t negatively impact deli coverage.
  • Work in conjunction with deli staff to stock and arrange deli items in visually pleasing manner.
  • Work in conjunction with supervisor to ensure merchandise is appropriately processed, invoices are audited and products are correctly organized and labeled.
  • Proactively monitor pricing and labels to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Work in conjunction with deli employee to maintain a clean front facing (deli case) and back facing (freezer, kitchen, warehouse shelving, etc.) work environment.
  • Promote work place safety by using machines, carrying items, and moving items in a manner that is safe.
  • Work in conjunction with supervisor to review, revise, and implement work-flow improvements.

Capability Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Must possess exceptional customer service, listening, speaking, and social skills.
  • Demonstrate respectfully speaking to a large group of staff or customers.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills is preferred.
  • The ability to read, write, understand, and speak English is required.
  • Ability to complete kitchen logs, necessary computer documents and to provide solutions in a positive manner for the team.
  • The ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Must possess a valid Food Handlers’ card and follow store guidelines for safety
  • Be able to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
  • Use full range of motion and fine motor skills.
  • Be able to pick up, carry, and place items of up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to identify audible and visual cues and respond to those cue
