Delivery Lead
Position Overview
The Delivery Lead will lead software delivery activities, coordinate engineering teams, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality enterprise applications developed using Microsoft .NET technologies. The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, project coordination, and stakeholder management.
Roles & Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Plan schedules and milestones. Work with the project team to estimate effort and establish delivery plans.
- Coordinate development activities. Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of .NET applications, RESTful APIs, and system integrations.
- Track risks and progress. Monitor project status, dependencies, technical risks, and delivery issues.
- Ensure timely delivery. Ensure assigned modules and development tasks meet agreed requirements, quality standards, and timelines.
Technical Leadership
- Review technical solutions. Participate in solution design and architecture reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and engineering best practices.
- Coordinate testing and deployment. Support defect resolution, UAT, production deployment, and post-implementation activities.
- Mentor engineers. Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and assist developers with complex technical issues.
Stakeholder Management
- Prepare project reports. Provide clear updates on progress, risks, issues, and planned activities.
- Communicate with stakeholders. Work closely with Business Analysts, QA Engineers, users, and the Offshore Development Centre.
- Support planning. Contribute to effort estimation, resource coordination, implementation planning, and release activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Improve delivery processes. Identify opportunities to improve development, testing, deployment, and collaboration processes.
- Promote engineering best practices. Encourage consistent coding standards, reusable components, documentation, version control, and Agile practices.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software development using Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Strong programming skills in C#, ASP.NET Core/.NET, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience developing enterprise web applications, RESTful APIs, backend services, and system integrations.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, database design, and SQL query optimisation.
- Experience with Git, Agile/Scrum methodologies, software design patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Experience leading software modules or workstreams, including task planning, technical guidance, code reviews, and delivery coordination.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Organised, results-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively within local and offshore teams.
