Demand Planning Analyst- SIOP || India
Summary
Develops demand forecasts and coordinates SIOP to balance customer demand, inventory, and production; uses statistical models, ABC analysis, and safety stock to optimize supply chain and minimize risks.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve statistical demand forecasting models using historical sales data, market intelligence, and business assumptions.
- Analyze sales trends, customer demand patterns, seasonality, and market dynamics to generate accurate demand forecasts.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance teams to align demand plans with business objectives.
- Lead the monthly Demand Review process as part of the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) cycle.
- Compare actual sales performance against forecasted demand, perform root cause analysis for forecast variances, and recommend improvements for future planning cycles.
- Identify potential supply-demand imbalances, inventory risks, capacity constraints, and material shortages, and proactively recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare monthly demand plans, inventory projections, and executive reports to support business planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate with Supply Planning and Procurement teams to ensure optimal inventory levels while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
- Facilitate cross-functional SIOP meetings by presenting demand insights, forecast assumptions, key risks, and recommended actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in demand planning processes, forecasting methodologies, and planning systems.
- Ensure data integrity within ERP, forecasting, and planning systems, maintaining accurate master data and planning parameters.
- Conduct Safety Stock Analysis to determine optimal inventory buffers based on demand variability, lead time, service level targets, and business requirements.
- Perform ABC Inventory Analysis to classify products based on sales value, consumption, and inventory
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, production planning, procurement, and end-to-end supply chain processes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field. MBA is preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, SIOP/S&OP, Forecasting, or Inventory Planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot) and reporting tools such as Power BI.
