Dementia Care Specialist

Inlet Coastal Resort is seeking an experienced and compassionate Dementia Care Specialist to join our memory care team.

The Dementia Care Specialist provides personalized, person-centered support to residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, attentive, and experienced in helping residents feel safe, respected, and engaged.

Required Qualifications

• Current dementia-care certification
• At least 2–3 years of experience working with individuals living with dementia
• Strong understanding of dementia-related behaviors, communication techniques, and person-centered care
• Dependable, compassionate, and able to remain calm in challenging situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
  

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support based on each resident’s needs, abilities, routines, and preferences
• Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living as needed
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interaction
• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in residents’ moods, behaviors, or conditions
• Use calm, respectful redirection and other appropriate dementia-care techniques
• Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment
• Document care and communicate relevant observations to the appropriate team members
• Collaborate with caregivers, nurses, leadership, and residents’ families
• Follow residents’ care plans and all community policies and confidentiality requirements

Schedule

• Day shift
• Weekend availability as needed
