Full Time Dental Assistant Schedule

Monday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Enjoy Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off!) Why You'll Love Working at James Island Dentistry

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dentists chairside
• Welcomes patients
• Prepares patients for treatments or checkups ensuring comfort
• Selection and setup of instrumentation, equipment and other dental materials as needed
• Instrument sterilization according to regulations
• Maintains accurate patient records
• Lab tasks as instructed
• Provide post-operative care instructions
• Maintain clean and stocked operatories

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant training or graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program
• Current Radiology Certification for the state of South Carolina
• 2+ years of dental assisting experience preferred, but new Dental Assistant graduates are encouraged to apply
• Experience assisting with general dentistry procedures; exposure to cosmetic, oral surgery, and periodontal procedures is a plus
• Working knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and sterilization protocols
• Understanding of infection control standards and health & safety regulations
• Experience with digital dental technology and software; Denticon experience is a plus
• Comfortable with digital scanning, intraoral cameras, and chairside assisting duties
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for creating outstanding patient experiences
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and commitment to providing high-quality patient care
