Role Summary:

The Operations Manager acts in both leadership and operational capacities. This role is critical to ensuring the highest level of patient care and most efficient business practices by leading team members’ personal and professional development, upholding Acorn’s excellence in patient care, and promoting our culture and core values. The Operations Manager is responsible for expanding our patient base and maintaining local relationships. At all times the Operations Manager will make decisions with integrity while considering both the patient experience and business health.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to assigned clinic Dental Assistants, Clinic Coordinators, Sterile Technicians Assistants in Training, and any other Clinic Support roles
  • Sets challenging yet achievable goals for growth and performance
  • Ensures their team has the autonomy and resources needed to succeed
  • Leads by example, fostering a coaching culture within their clinic
  • Maintains positive relationships with partners, vendors, and affiliates

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all processes to recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a driven team to support the dentist in efficient patient care, based on the staffing guidelines provided
  • Connects and builds relationships with patients and families
  • Establishes and builds local relationships alongside Senior Leadership team members
  • Create training routines to ensure team success and growth
  • Ensure daily success cards are reviewed with appropriate team members to guide instruction to clinic operations and focuses
  • Expands patient base through local relationships and exceed capacity goals.
  • Create and maintain team member schedules that maximize efficiency and maintain appropriate support for the dentists to safely treat all patients scheduled
  • Address team member performance and employment decisions with HR and in compliance with state and federal laws, to lead a strong and cohesive team
  • Respond to all communication regarding patient care and business operations in a timely manner via phone call, written digital mediums, or in person
  • Attend all required training and alignment meetings
  • Lead company culture through presentation and implementation of initiatives that further the company goals

  • Ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the clinic and lead change with enthusiasm
  • Demonstration of a positive attitude, self-motivation, and resourcefulness

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience leading diverse teams
  • Dental office fluency preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 15 lbs
  • Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods of time as the demands of the day see fit
  • Occasional travel to dental offices, potential for some overnight or weekend travel as needed
