Department Generalist
Summary
Cross-trained generalist covering human-services roles (advocacy, education, outreach) to ensure program continuity during staffing gaps, with occasional evening/weekend shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Department Generalist serves as a flexible, cross-trained team member who provides program and staffing coverage across the department’s key roles. This includes temporary coverage of roles such as Family Advocate, Parent Educator, Child Educator, Outreach Specialist, Office Supervisor, Promotora, and Two-Gen Navigator. The Generalist is deployed during staff leave, vacancies, and/or transitional staffing periods and is expected to quickly integrate into program workflows, deliver high-quality services, and maintain operational continuity.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position generally follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role also includes two evening shifts per week (until 8:00 PM) and 4 hours of work on Saturdays, on a rotating basis. For example, an employee may work two weeknights one week and a Saturday shift the following week. While the schedule may vary week to week, the total hours will generally not exceed 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime may be required based on program needs.
