Deputy Construction Manager (MRT Project)
About the Role
Our client, a leading A1 main contractor, is looking for a Deputy Construction Manager to support the delivery of an MRT project in West Singapore with a contract value of around S$600 million. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will help run site operations and keep the project on track for scope, schedule, cost and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in overseeing day-to-day site operations and delivery
- Review tender and construction drawings, specifications and contract documents to ensure project requirements are fully understood
- Take charge of technical matters and coordinate architectural and M&E works
- Plan and sequence construction activities in line with the master and detailed programmes
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers on site, and track progress against targets
- Represent the project in meetings with the client and consultants, and liaise with authorities to resolve technical issues
- Plan and manage manpower, plant and materials so that works are completed on time and within budget
- Chair coordination meetings with Site Managers, Site Engineers and subcontractors
- Uphold a safe and healthy workplace, with a strong focus on zero accidents and near misses
- Ensure the site complies with statutory requirements and workplace safety and health standards
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB)
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a main contractor
- Experience in design and build underground MRT station projects
