Deputy Data Protection Officer

Our client, a global financial institution in Bahrain has a vacancy for Deputy Data Protection Officer for their Bahrain office. Responsibilities: -Providing guidance to the business as part of Data Protection advisory work. -Reviewing DPIAs and contracts with third party providers (where there is a touchpoint with personal data) and providing expert guidance and constructive challenge to the business. -Maintaining the firm`s record of processing activities. -Reviewing and providing recommendations regarding Data Loss Prevention exception requests sent by the business. -Leading ad hoc and scheduled Data Protection-focused compliance reviews of business units. -Managing discrete elements of the firm’s enterprise-wide Data Protection Program. -Collating and reviewing information for Data Protection related regulatory submissions (e.g. for reporting purposes) and inspections / audits.

Education and Qualifications: -Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Data Protection Office at a regulated financial institution -Preferably holds an internationally recognized Data Protection certification e.g. from IAPP -This position is exclusively for Bahraini nationals.
