Deputy Director of Operations
This position is in the Wage and Hour Division (WHO), Office of Regional Enforcement and Support (ORES), San Francisco District Office. The position assists the Director of Operations in the executive direction, guidance, and operational matters in developing, planning, and carrying out all Wage and Hour programs within the assigned Regio
The incumbent will assist the Director of Operations in coordinating the development of integrated plans, local policies, strategies, guidelines, systems, and procedures for Wage Hour program activities in the Region. Assists in the evaluation of the overall impact and effectiveness of assigned Wage Hour programs in the region in meeting the needs of national program goals of the Wage and Hour Administrator. Assists in the direction of the program planning and management overviews in the areas of budget, personnel, procurement, health and safety, and information technology (IT) using New Core Financial Management System, Acquisition Management System (AMS), Wage and Hour Investigative Support and Reporting Database (WHISARD), Civil Money Penalty (CMP) system, Back Wage Follow-Up System (BWFS) and Treasury Disbursement Systems. Supervises the BWFS employees and directs a comprehensive review of ongoing financial systems such as CMP, BWFS, budget, procurement, personnel management, space, and IT within the region to ensure and enforce compliance by the District Offices with Wage Hour National Office and Regional Office policy, regulations, and procedures. Review systemic factors related to program effectiveness, such as fiscal operations, work organization, personnel management, quality controls, space management, health and safety management, and availability of necessary resources Reviews policy issuances and procedures prepared by operations to the Director of Operations, the Wage Hour National Office, especially as related to administrative matters for regional program implications in terms of operations feasibility, resource requirements, consistency, and all other program considerations. Service as the principal point of contact and technical expert on Labor-Management Relations and Performance Management for the Region by providing advice and counsel to management throughout the region.
