About the Role:
This role will report to the Chief Compliance Officer, with a dotted line reporting to the Deputy Head of Compliance.

The successful candidate will work closely with business, technology, marketing, and legal teams to conduct compliance assessments and provide compliance and risk mitigation requirements for the organisation.

We are looking for a Deputy Senior Manager to strengthen our day-to-day compliance operations, acting as the key point of contact and escalation lead for business-as-usual (BAU) matters, while supporting the broader compliance framework.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in Compliance who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and evolving industry.

** Please do not apply if you do not have experience in utilising on-chain investigative tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or any other such equivalent tools. Experience in using such tools is mandatory.



Key Responsibilities:


Business-as-Usual (BAU) Compliance Oversight

• Act as the overall Individual Contributor (IC) and escalation point for all BAU compliance operations.

• Make informed decisions on matters that do not require direct escalation to the CCO or Deputy Head of Compliance.
• Review and update global compliance procedures and policies to ensure compliance with regulations.

• Prioritise and manage case queues.

Payments Compliance

Review and resolve Payments Cases, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to address payment-related compliance issues efficiently.

Monitoring and Escalations

Manage escalations from ongoing transaction monitoring, ensuring prompt investigation and resolution.

• Evaluate and escalate Chainalysis KYT (Know-Your-Transaction) alerts and cases where blockchain analytics suggest potentially suspicious activity.

• Assist with law enforcement requests, including handling subpoenas, court orders, and official information requests in coordination with senior compliance leadership.

• Assist in managing external party requests (including banks, partners, and regulators), ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.

Decision-Making and Escalation Management

Serve as the key decision-maker for non-critical compliance escalations.

• Apply sound judgment to assess when issues must be escalated to senior leadership.

• Ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance in all decisions.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Compliance, or related fields.
  • 5-6 years of experience in financial services, fintech, or cryptocurrency compliance operations.
  • Experience in leading a team
  • In-depth knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks, KYC/KYB/KYT processes, blockchain analytics, and payments compliance.
  • Experience assisting with law enforcement inquiries and external partner requests is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple high-volume case queues.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
