This position is located at two community-based practices:

  • NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Tremont - 1920 Webster Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457

Opportunity Details:

  • Conduct comprehensive skin examinations and record patients' health histories.
  • Diagnose and treat pigmented lesions (e.g. - nevi and melanoma) and other common dermatologic conditions, including acne, psoriasis, dandruff, athlete's foot, and skin cancer.
  • Counsel patients on preventative care, including annual skin screenings, sun protection, skin cancer awareness, and skin and lymph node self-examinations.
  • Perform incisional biopsies to diagnose melanoma and carry out skin surgeries to improve appearance, enable early diagnosis, or manage conditions such as skin cancer.
  • Prescribe appropriate medical therapies, including hormonal agents, topical treatments, contraceptives, spironolactone, anti-androgens, oral corticosteroids, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, and antibiotics.
  • Provide therapies such as intralesional injections, chemical peels, and comedo removal to treat age spots, sun damage, rough or discolored skin, or oily skin.
  • Recommend diagnostic tests based on patients' histories and physical examination findings.
  • Evaluate patients for cosmetic procedures such as liposuction, laser resurfacing, and microdermabrasion, and perform treatments as appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of dermatology through ongoing education, literature review, and professional engagement.
  • Collaborate with and refer patients to other specialists as needed.
  • Must provide late evening and weekend coverage as part of the standard scheduling rotation.
