Design Assurance System Consultant

Summary

A consultant role at a UK aerospace and flight training provider, nominally based in Bristol with flexible/remote options, driving transformation of design assurance systems. Summary

Our client is an established and growing organisation operating within the aerospace and training sector, delivering critical services across the UK. They are seeking a Design Assurance Systems Consultant to play a pivotal role in driving transformation across a high-performing business area.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a flexible, dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimise systems, processes, and organisational structures. You will have a direct and measurable impact on compliance, safety culture, and operational effectiveness.

The role is nominally based in the South West of England with flexible and remote working options depending on business needs.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead transformation initiatives to enhance organisational structures, systems, and governance frameworks
  • Design and implement improvements to Design Assurance Systems and associated processes
  • Drive compliance and embed a strong safety culture across teams
  • Collaborate with design, training, operations, and executive stakeholders to deliver change
  • Develop and introduce new ways of working, from concept through to implementation
  • Apply structured, project-led approaches to deliver complex change programmes
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, ensuring buy-in and long-term adoption
  • Provide coaching and leadership to support teams through transformation

Skills and Experience

Knowledge & Experience
  • Strong background in design and compliance within a regulated engineering environment
  • Proven experience working within a Part 21J framework or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Design lifecycles and stage gates
    • Design Assurance Systems
    • Governance, documentation, and record keeping
  • Demonstrated success in implementing new systems, processes, and compliance frameworks
