The responsibility of the Design Engineer is to plan and design product applications in support of AIUS Sales. In addition, the position is responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering projects within the scope of our product capabilities within the Food or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing process. This position will work with inside sales to review and approve projects, manage in-house order integration with local suppliers and our core technology from Japan and perform local assembly and final testing processes. This role requires organization, complete system design talent, experience within the food and pharmaceutical packaging or processing equipment industry, and a commitment to manage a project from start to finish. Additionally, it requires the ability to go above and beyond to provide the customer with a professional service or product that satisfies a need or requirement beyond the initial sale.

Essential Functions
- Serve as a technical liaison to obtain and deploy the engineering information for AIUS from Japan
- Provide electrical support for manufacturing and maintenance of AIUS

- Oversees manufacture of products and process optimization
- Interfaces with customers
- Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives and involves conventional types of plans and specifications. The Engineering Manager will review work for the application of sound professional judgment.
- Performs design calculations and prepares equipment or material specifications
- Reads design procedures and specifications leading to construction documents
- Ability to perform designs using relevant design software. Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables with and supervisory assistance provided on unusual problems
- May coordinate the work of designers and other technical support personnel
- Works with inside sales to understand a customer requirement and offer a solution with estimated costs and lead times
- Manages all in house orders that require integration of our core technology with a local solution
- Performs hands-on light assembly and integration work
- Conducts the final test and approval before shipment
- Conducts the final test and approval before shipment
- Organizes order files or database for professional after-sales support of semi-custom solutions
- Develops relationships with local vendors
- Design solutions include conveyors, emission covers, reject systems, etc.
- Create a small-scale production and assembly environment with production deadlines
- Creates and designs standard conveyors to integrate locally for our entire product range to minimize shipping costs, add flexibility, and decrease lead times with an ultimate goal to increase sales and profit

Education and Experience Requested
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience
- Four (4) years minimum experience in a design and production environment
- Proven track record in system design, preferably with direct experience with UL, CE, OSHA, USDA, 3A, and sanitary design
- Experience in risk analysis and maintaining safety documents
- Experience with bill of materials (BOM) generation and spare parts/service documentation
Skills Requested
- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D), SolidWorks, or similar
- Microsoft Applications (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- SAP Business One or CRM experience, preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Positive attitude and approach to the job responsibilities and the Anritsu team
