Design Engineer

AVL Italia in Cavriago is seeking a Design Engineer to create 3D models and 2D drawings for powertrain components and assemblies, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with CAD guidelines.

You will perform data quality checks, maintain documentation in AVL databases, and support lead engineers throughout project execution, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Create 3D models for components and assemblies per project CAD guidelines. Develop 2D CAD drawings for manufacturing per standards and latest tech. Perform data quality checks and data exchanges with internal/external partners. Conduct regular design checks for package boundaries, assembly processes, and manufacturability. Maintain and update component documentation in AVL-PDM System and Powertrain Database. Support lead engineers and project managers during project execution. Provide technical support for resident engineers. Assist in creating documentation for training, knowledge management, and patents. Support AVL internal procurement through info exchange with customers and suppliers. Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field. Experience in the design of powertrain and/or vehicle components. Proficiency in 3D CAD systems (Catia and/or Creo) and tolerancing knowledge.
