About the Opportunity
Leap29 is supporting the growth of an international engineering consultancy expanding its Dublin presence and looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join its growing team.
This is an opportunity to work on some of Europe's most technically advanced data centre and mission-critical projects, supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams across the full project lifecycle.
The opportunity would particularly suit an experienced engineer who has progressed beyond purely technical design and is comfortable coordinating engineering packages, managing technical interfaces and working across multiple disciplines.
You do not need to currently hold the title of Design Manager. We are interested in experienced engineers who are ready to take greater ownership of multidisciplinary design delivery and progress towards Design Management and wider project leadership
The Role
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will support the coordination and delivery of design activities across large-scale mission-critical developments from concept through construction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and design activities
- Working across Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and BIM disciplines
- Managing technical interfaces between engineering packages
- Supporting and leading design reviews throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinating design deliverables against project requirements and programme
- Identifying and resolving technical and design-related issues
- Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and internal engineering teams
- Supporting projects through concept, detailed design, construction and delivery
- Maintaining design quality and technical standards
- Taking increasing ownership of design management as projects progress
- Supporting the continued development and growth of the Dublin engineering team
About You
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong technical background who is comfortable working across complex, multidisciplinary projects.
You may currently be working as a:
- Senior Design Engineer
- Lead Design Engineer
- Senior Project Engineer
- Engineering Lead
- Technical Lead
- Discipline Lead
- Design Coordinator
- Design Manager
Your background could be within Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, CSA or multidisciplinary engineering.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience delivering complex engineering or construction projects
- Strong understanding of engineering design and multidisciplinary coordination
- Knowledge of MEP systems and building services
- Experience coordinating engineering packages and technical interfaces
- Experience participating in or leading design reviews
- Strong client, consultant and contractor management skills
- Good understanding of design programme, quality and project requirements
- Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
Experience within Data Centres or Mission-Critical Infrastructure would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other technically complex sectors will also be considered.
