Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in Wireline Services or Drilling Services product lines. The role is responsible for the end-to-end design and development of mechanical components and systems, from concept and CAD modeling through prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems from concept through manufacturing support.
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor, Creo, DraftSight/AutoCAD, and Windchill PLM.
  • Perform engineering calculations, material selection, tolerance analysis, and design verification in accordance with engineering standards.
  • Execute engineering assignments for new product development and enhancements to existing products.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update engineering documentation, technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and product records.
  • Support Windchill PLM activities, including data loading, model cleanup, and part file management.
  • Identify and resolve routine engineering issues independently while escalating complex technical challenges when required.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, CAD Analysts, Project Leads, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Define project scope, monitor schedules, and ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.
  • Provide manufacturing support during prototyping, testing, and production implementation.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies, engineering standards, and quality requirements.
  • Provide regular project updates and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical design and product development expertise.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Creo, DraftSight/AutoCAD, and Windchill PLM.
  • Experience in 3D CAD modeling, engineering drawings, and product data management.
  • Knowledge of material selection, tolerance analysis, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong project planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Understanding of Oil & Gas engineering standards and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Inventor and other CAD design software.
  • Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably within Wireline Services or Drilling Services.
  • Experience supporting new product development, engineering documentation, and manufacturing activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
