# Design Engineer (Electrical and Mechanical) ## Company Overview AYR Energy is a prominent player in the energy sector, focusing on innovative design solutions within the electrical engineering domain, particularly for high-voltage applications. ## Job Summary The Design Engineer role is critical in creating high-voltage circuit breakers (72 kV and above), integral to power grids and large infrastructure projects. The position requires a strong background in either electrical or mechanical engineering to contribute to the design and development of high-performance circuit breakers. ## Responsibilities - Design and develop high-voltage circuit breakers for power grids and large infrastructure. - Conduct electrical clearance, dielectric insulation, and high-voltage stress analysis. - Perform coupled-field dielectric and Electric & Magnetic Field Transient (EMBT) analysis. - Ensure compliance with IEEE and IEC standards through type testing. - Utilize design tools such as Ansys, EMTP, eTap, and Console for simulation and analysis. - Collaborate with the Lead Product Designer and participate in interdisciplinary teams. ## Qualifications - **Education:** - B.Tech in Electrical Engineering for electrical variant. - B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering for mechanical variant. - **Experience:** 3 to 6 years in relevant engineering design roles. - **Technical Skills:** - Proficiency in high-voltage circuit breaker design. - Familiarity with electrical clearance and dielectric insulation. - Experience with high-voltage stress analysis and coupled-field analysis. - Understanding of IEEE and IEC type testing procedures. - Proficient in design and simulation tools such as Ansys, EMTP, eTap, Console. ## Preferred Skills - Experience with high-voltage equipment and power grid infrastructure. - Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical design. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. ## Experience - Candidates should have between 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in electrical or mechanical design engineering. ## Environment - Positions are based in Chennai, in a professional office environment, promoting collaboration across design teams. ## Salary - Compensation for this role ranges from ₹10 LPA to ₹15 LPA, based on experience and skills. ## Growth Opportunities - Successful candidates may have opportunities for career advancement within AYR Energy, potentially moving into senior design roles or management positions. ## Benefits - Competitive salary and performance-based incentives. - Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning. - Collaborative work culture focused on innovation in energy solutions.
