Design Engineer - SI
Location: Orlando, FL | Full Time | Pay Range: $80,055.32 - $96,452.19/YR (Based on experience and qualifications)

What You'll Do
Develop System Designs
- Translate project requirements, scopes of work, and discovery information into integrated audiovisual system designs.
- Conceptualize equipment needs and technical solutions that align with client objectives and project requirements.
- Participate in internal and client-facing design discussions to support project development.
Create Technical Documentation
- Produce system schematics, network planning documentation, bill of materials, wire lists, and cable schedules.
- Develop facility impact documentation that supports installation and deployment.
- Create equipment mounting and cable fabrication details when required.
Support Project Execution
- Provide technical guidance throughout design development, deployment, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure designs remain aligned with project goals.
Plan Integrated Technology Solutions
- Design solutions that incorporate audio, video, lighting, LED, control systems, and networking technologies.
- Support network topology planning, including VLAN configuration considerations and AVoIP workflows utilizing unicast and multicast architectures.
Collaborate Across Disciplines
- Work directly with vendors, subject matter experts, and fellow engineers to develop effective technical solutions.
- Communicate design intent clearly to support successful implementation and project delivery.
What You Bring
- At least 3 years of experience in audiovisual integration engineering.
- Experience planning network topologies and working with VLANs, AVoIP systems, and unicast/multicast workflows.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and creating schematic drawings.
- Experience developing detailed bills of materials for audiovisual systems and supporting peripherals.
- Knowledge across multiple audiovisual disciplines, including audio, video, lighting, LED technology, networking, and control systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- AVIXA CTS or CTS-D certification preferred.
- Experience supporting environments such as higher education, collaboration spaces, broadcast facilities, production venues, stadiums, or experiential entertainment venues is preferred.
