Design Engineer - VAVE
Position Title : Design Engineer VAVE
Department : R&D Product Development
Location : HARTING Manufacturing India, Thirumizhasai, Chennai
Roles and Responsibilities
Education : Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Work Experience : 5 to 8 years of experience in Value Engineering, Component engineering of electro mechanical products.
Core Responsibilities:
- Expertise on VAVE concept and have good experience in handling VE projects.
- Must have completed minimum 3 major VE savings projects.
- Hands on working knowledge of Siemens NX 3D CAD software & Team Centre.
- Hands on experience in New Product Design & Development (NPI/NPD) of electro-mechanical products.
- Good knowledge in diecasting, plastics & sheet metal component design & development.
- Good Knowledge on the Seal designs, IP ratings and rubber seal materials.
- Good knowledge on material selection for the parts based on application.
- Must have experience in working with Global teams and communicating with them technically.
- Good knowledge on GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, dimensions, and structural analysis.
- Knowledge on the Engineering Change Notification process for design changes.
- Ensure design of components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards.
- Establish and support knowledge-sharing networks throughout the HARTING Technology Group to promote collaboration and innovation.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to drive VAVE initiatives.
General Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, , or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of VAVE.
- Proficient in project management, capable of planning and executing projects related to the development of plastics and rubber materials.
- Strong communication skills, high self-motivation, and the ability to organize independently.
- A passion for innovation and a strong drive for finding new solutions, combined with a global mindset.
- Willingness to undertake occasional business trips lasting several days.
- A solid awareness of cost considerations.
