A Spring–Summer 2027 on-site internship in Hanover, PA supporting the design engineering team of an aerospace/industrial mechanical seal manufacturer: assist on assigned multi-week projects, perform basic engineering calculations, and research and develop validation testing, using 3D CAD/SolidWorks and MS Office. Open only to U.S. persons (ITAR).
Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY, Inc. KRS Division dba Kaydon Ring & Seal (“KRS”) is responsible for Aerospace and Industrial applications. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine/airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Individuals selected will apply learned concepts to dedicated and on-going projects, as well as learn new skills to achieve the determined goals.

Job Summary
The Design Engineering Intern will support the design engineering team with various assigned projects and tasks. The Intern will research and develop testing for validation.
Essential Job Functions
- Follows and supports all the Company’s safety, quality and company policies.
- Supports design engineering team and assist with projects and tasks.
- Works with mentor(s) on a multi-week assigned project.
- Performs basic engineering calculations and apply engineering principles to solve problems.
Additional Duties
- Complete other duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Sophomore or Junior in manufacturing, mechanical, or related engineering field attending four-year accredited university or college.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Understanding of 3D CAD software and SolidWorks.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word).
- Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR Compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hand tools and safety equipment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Problem solving mindset.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
- Regular on-site presence at Hanover, PA location.
- Work is performed in an office environment while supporting manufacturing environment.
