JOB SUMMARY

The Design Intern will support the Design Team in concept development, design research, documentation, and presentations. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to professional design practice, project workflows, and multidisciplinary collaboration while contributing to ongoing projects under supervision.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Support

  • Assist in developing basic design concepts, mood boards, and visual presentations.

  • Support space planning, furniture layouts, and simple interior detailing tasks.

  • Assist with material, finishes, furniture, and accessories selection under guidance.

  • Prepare basic drawings, 3D models, and renderings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Suite.

  • Support the preparation of FF&E schedules, drawings, and project documentation.

  • Assist with design research, benchmarking, and sourcing of materials and products.

  • Participate in site visits, internal design reviews, and client meetings when required.

  • Support project installations and site coordination activities.

  • Ensure tasks are completed in line with project briefs, timelines, and quality standards.

  • Stay updated on design trends, materials, and sustainability practices.

Collaboration & Learning

  • Work closely with designers, architects, engineers, and other team members.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and multidisciplinary collaborations.

  • Receive feedback and implement revisions to designs as directed by supervisors.

  • Comply with internal design standards, processes, and authority requirements.



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • B.Sc. or B.Tech in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline.

  • Preferably a serving NYSC Corps Member.

  • Prior internship or studio experience is an advantage but not required.


SKILLS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Willingness to learn BIM and professional design workflows.

  • Creative thinking and attention to detail.

  • Strong willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow professionally.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
