You will be on a team that supports your growth, provides mentorship, and connects you to the broader Wealthsimple community!

About the Product Design team
Design plays a big role at Wealthsimple, as we help shape what gets built and how customers experience it. We’re hiring a Design Intern to support the design and delivery of real product experiences across areas like Investing, Banking, and more.
You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers, contribute to real projects, and see your work ship to production. You won’t be stuck on the sidelines, you’ll be part of a team, learning how products are designed, built, and improved in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
Rather than filling a single narrow role, we’re looking for an emerging designer who’s curious, motivated, and excited to learn. During the interview process, we’ll look for a team where your interests and strengths are a great fit and where you can do meaningful, hands-on work.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Work alongside Senior and Staff Product Designers on meaningful, real product initiatives, contributing to experiences used by millions of Canadians
Own smaller projects end-to-end from understanding the problem, to exploring ideas, to refining and shipping work to production
Design thoughtful, high-quality UI and interactions while also developing your product thinking, judgment, and customer empathy
Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to learn how great ideas move from concept to shipped product without compromising on quality
Participate in customer research and feedback sessions to better understand real customer needs and pain points
See your work ship to production multiple times over the course of your internship, and learn how teams iterate and improve after launch
This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You’ll be trusted to contribute ideas, ask questions, and help raise the quality bar, not just execute tasks.
Who we’re looking for:
Experience using Figma to design and prototype product experiences
Genuine interest in product design and curiosity about how digital products are built and improved over time
Passion for Wealthsimple’s mission and excitement about helping Canadians reach financial freedom
Strong taste and a willingness to share ideas, explore alternatives, and explain your thinking
Comfort learning new problem spaces quickly and eagerness to dig into complex domains
Interest in talking to customers and using research and feedback to inform your design decisions
A collaborative mindset! You enjoy working closely with designers, engineers, and product partners
